It’s 40° F this morning and we’re expecting our first frost of the season Saturday morning. Fall has definitely arrived in Wisconsin. I already stacked wood in my etageres flanking the fireplace and will place an order for a face cord of oak and get that stacked outside.
I’d planned to be in our new home by this time but it just wasn’t the right timing, I pushed hard to get one and life pushed back. I finally accepted that it was time to let go of my house hunt for now so instead I will enjoy the things about living here and hope to buy our new home this coming spring/summer. I love the fireplace here and use it almost daily all winter long. I enjoy starting a fire in the mornings before the kids get up so they can come downstairs to the warmth and crackling sounds of the wood burning. I also enjoy the patio I’ve created here with my fire pit.
Cool fall mornings remind me of walking through the woods with my Border Collie, Molly. I’ve been watching and waiting to bring home another ever since she passed away a few years back. I believe things happen when they are supposed to, so I just keep watching and waiting.
